Andrew BandstraBroadcaster & Media Relations Manager
Andrew is entering his third season with the Blue Crabs, and his second as the lead broadcaster. Prior to that, he interned for the DC Grays as a broadcaster, PBS's To the Contrary as a Production Assistant, the Minnesota Vikings as a Public Relations Gameday intern, the NFL as a Public Relations intern for Super Bowl LII, CISN TV in Des Moines as a Broadcaster, and worked for the Iowa Cubs as the Matrix operator. He is a native of Des Moines, Iowa, where he attended Theodore Roosevelt High School. He went on to play baseball and receive his Bachelor's Degree in Digital Media at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake. When he's not at Regency Furniture Stadium, he loves to play baseball, basketball, exercise, watch sports, and play video games, specifically NBA 2K. He has been an avid sports fan since he could walk, so much so that as early as elementary school he would give his mother "random sports trivia of the day" everyday. When he isn't cheering on the Blue Crabs, he roots for the New York Yankees, the Miami Heat, the Green Bay Packers, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He also wanted to let you know that it is acceptable to be a fan of this wide array of teams, considering that Iowa doesn't have any major sports teams. His family consists of his loving parents, two brothers, and a sister.
