Right-handed pitcher Jim Ed Warden rejoins Southern Maryland for his fourth consecutive season. The six-foot-seven, 190-pound Warden finished the 2012 season with a 6-8 record, 53 strikeouts and 11 saves in 64.1 innings.
Through 12 seasons Warden, 33, has collected 128 career saves in 766 innings and a lifetime ERA of 3.71. Warden also finished the 2011 season with the most saves amongst the Atlantic League (28) as the Blue Crabs pitching staff also notched the best overall ERA in the league (4.11).
Warden was originally drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the sixth round of the 2001 MLB June Amateur draft and has Triple-A experience with the Indians, Washington Nationals and New York Mets organizations.
